“Ruphinianus” which it mentioned in ancient historical sources, localized to Caddebostan. Actually, it was replaced by a town called “Drys”. This was a point of range on the mainroad to Asia Minor. A small safe harbour, protected by a breakwater, a pier, a ware house, emborion and a considerable number of secular and religious buildings, including a showy summer palace, were not far from the shore at Ruphinianus. The Monastery of Hypaseos, Church of Havarion, Church of Hagios Mikhael and Romain are religious buildings of the town. A dormitorium (guest house) was in the Monastery of Hypaseos. There was also a martyrion. There are few architectural traces left in the Byzantine settlement, due to the new structuring. A number of columns, column capitals and other architecturals fragments are to be found in the some houses garden and neighborhood park in Göztepe. This fragments belonging to the various period and being the different style.
