Abstract:

Bibliometric research is a foundation in the determination of the publication policies and scientific indicators they transmit. The repetition of bibliometric research in certain processes is also important for the assessment of the area that will be subject to the study. In this study, graduate theses prepared in the area of regional development published in the database of the YÖK National Thesis Center were analyzed by the method of bibliometry. In the framework of the subject, graduate theses that have the keywords of regional development and regional development in the thesis headline have been studied. In this regard, 269 subjects of the study thesis were identified between 1989 and 2019. The purpose of the study is to classify and evaluate the findings obtained in the framework of the determined parameters relating to the theses related to regional development.

Bibliometric studies are basis for determining the publication policies with the scientific indicators they provide. It is important for bibliometric studies to be repeated in certain periods for the reevaluation of the area that is to be studied. In this study, postgraduate theses prepared about regional development field and published in YÖK national thesis center database were analyzed with bibliometry method. Within the scope of the subject, the postgraduate theses which include regional improvement and regional development keywords under the title of thesis are searched. In this respect, 269 graduate theses from the years 1989-2019 related to the subject of study were determined. The aim of the study is to classify the findings obtained within the framework of determined parameters related to the theses about regional development and to make evaluations.
