Different cities and towns in Anatolia form the urban texture with the original houses built to meet the need for shelter and the combination of these houses. These buildings reflects social, technological and economic lifestyle of the period in the most rational way and they are the original examples of both life culture and architectural culture. Settlements with unique textures, which carry the traces of the past and are in constant motion, need to be protected with site-specific multifaceted approaches. The aim of this study, which is handled with the understanding of shared memory and responsibility for protection, is to protect the natural and cultural heritage values ​​of the Temenni Neighborhood of Ürgüp, one of the important symbols of the Cappadocia Region, to make a documentation study on the civil architectural texture of the neighborhood and to determine its protection problems In this context, the historical buildings and streets in the neighborhood were visited by conducting field studies, and the drawings of some buildings whose facades were documented with photographs were made. In the houses examined, places such as courtyards, sofas, rooms, tafana (kitchen), barns and cigars, which reflect the traditional texture, were determined. It is seen that the texture is formed by the intertwining of rock carving and the physical environment made by human hands as a whole. The houses built with the masonry stone architecture, which is the local construction system of the region, were generally built as two floors. The neighborhood is located within the borders of Natural and Urban- Archaeological sites. Unfortunately, a holistic understanding of protection has not yet developed in the neighborhood, which includes different layers of protection. In this context, many conservation problems have been identified within the scope of the study. One of the important threats in the area is the melting and losing shape of the Temenni rock due to external climatic conditions. The unconscious expansion of this rock-carved texture causes great problems. As a result of the increasing use of tourism in the neighborhood, many buildings have been abandoned and the traditional texture has remained largely idle. According to the results of the texture analysis studies carried out in the neighborhood, which has many functional, social and physical problems, the original texture resists to survive with a small number of examples. In addition to these, many problems have been identified respectively, such as theft of the stones of the ruined buildings, the elements that create visual pollution on the facades, the unqualified additions made with the wrong materials, the use of materials that are not suitable for the original texture. In this research, it is suggested to find a solution to this problem identified in the neighborhood within the boundaries of the site and to intervene in the area by drawing a common roadmap for local administrations, universities and the field presidency in this context.
