Purpose: This study was designed to immunochemically investigate the expression of 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin-D3 receptors (VDR) in benign and malign injuries of endometrial tissue. Method: The events were divided into two groups according to the endometrial pathology results as benign (n=10) and endometrioid adenocarcinoma (n=17). The VDR expression in endometrial tissues belonging to the cases (n=27) was studied by immune-histochemical methods and the levels of VDR expression between the groups were compared. For the semi-quality assessment of the VDR expression, the expression intensity, painting dancability and general scores were determined. The demographic data of the patients were recorded. Results: There was no significant difference in demographic data outside the age (p<0,001) between the groups (p>0,05). In the malign group, the level of VDR expression was significantly higher than the benign group (p<0,001). When the tumor rate increased, the level of VDR expression was also observed significantly increasing (r=0,888, p<0,001). Similarly, the VDR expression was significantly increased as it progressed to the stage (r=0.639, p=0.006). However, there was no statistically meaningful relationship between tumor size (p=0,645), estrogen receptor positive, PR positive and the presence of lymphovascular invasion and VDR expression (p>0,05). The result: VDR expression increases in endometrial cancer compared to normal endometrial tissue. When the tumor behavior became aggressive, the VDR expression was also observed to increase. As a result, an increased level of VDR may be associated with the development of endometrial cancer and the stage of the disease.
