18th and 19th centuries are the periods of time which the architecture of the Ottoman Empire was affected by the Western architecture. The enjoyment of the art which have values (i.e art of adornment, lines with many curls etc), started to be felt after 18th century and caused a change in other cities of Anatolia, especially Istanbul. In this period of change, The architectural situation of the city, Ankara where substantial events happened throughout the history, is significant. In this study, the effects of the western architectural trends on the architecture of Ankara were investigated. Since the mosques / small mosques are the group of the structures where the architectural changes can be observed, in additon to the "perception of place" having values of the history, this investigation into the mosques / small mosques was conducted. Based on all this information, the periods of time before westernization and the mosques in Ankara were investigated in the first part of the study. In the second part, considering the period of time from the beginning of 18th century to the beginning of 20th century, 10 mosques located in the town "Altindag", Ankara and the architectural features of these mosques were determined. As a result of the investigation, with the effect of the western architectural trends, the architectural features of the mosques constructed in Ankara were evaluated based on the architectural features of the mosques / small mosques constructed during former periods of time.
