Kelâm, hadis ve fıkıh ilim dallarında verdiği eserlerle tanınan Ali b. Osman el-Ûşî’nin (575/1179) hayatı hakkında detaylı bilgiler tespit edilememiştir. Bununla beraber günümüze ulaşan eserlerinden ve kimi hocalarıyla öğrencilerinden yola çıkılarak hayatı ve ilmî faaliyetleri hakkında birtakım tahminlerde bulunulmuştur. el-Ûşî, el-Emâlî dışında, Gurerü’l-Ahbâr ve Dürerü’l-Eşʿâr, Nisâbü’l-Ahbâr, Müsnedü Enes b. Mâlik, el-Fetâva’s-Sirâciyye, Muhtelifü’r-Rivâye adlı eserleri de telif etmiştir. el-Ûşî, el-Kaṣîdetü’l-Lâmiyye ve Bed’ü’l-Emâlî isimleriyle da anılan el-Emâlî adlı manzum eserinde İslâm inançlarının temel konularını, kelâm kitaplarındaki ilâhiyyât, nübüvvât ve sem‘iyyât şeklindeki sıralamaya uygun olarak beyitler halinde anlatmıştır. Kelâm/akâid konularını kısa ve özlü bilgilerle, ezberlenmesi kolay bir tarzda sunan el-Emâlî, yazıldığından günümüze kadar okutulagelmiş ve çok sayıda şerh ve tercümeye konu olmuştur. el-Ûşî, el-Emâlî’sinde İslâm inanç esaslarını Ehl-i Sünnet bakış açısıyla ele almış; diğer fırkaların muhalif görüşlerine ise kısa ifadelerle işaret etmiştir. el-Ûşî, manzum bir eser olması nedeniyle, el-Emâlî’sinde âyet ve hadîslerden doğrudan alıntılar yapmak yerine; âyet ve hadîslerden aldığı aynı veya benzer kelimelerle bunlara telmihlerde bulunarak konuları anlatmıştır. Bu çalışmada el-Ûşî’nin el-Emâlî’sinde işaret ettiği/telmihte bulunduğu düşünülen/tahmin edilen hadîsler tespit edilmeye ve bunlardan hareketle el-Emâlî manzumesi özelinde kelâm–hadîs ilişkisi incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.
