Abstract:

Foreign football transfer policies of professional super-league football teams, which are the main players of professional football that has become a big industry today, are often discussed. The aim of this study is to study the performance of foreign national footballers in the staff of the Turkish Football Super League teams according to some of their selected characteristics, such as the countries and continents where they come, the number of matches they play, the time they take part in the matches and the average age. In this context, the sample of the research was made by 22 teams and foreign footballers in these teams who were in the 6 seasons of the super league and had at least two seasons of the league. Identifying statistics have been used through the SPSS package program for data analysis. When the research findings were examined, the teams in the Super League were found to make the most transfers in the centrifugal and stoper, at least in the right and left bek positions. It has been found that the average age of the footballers is high and the average time in the matches they play according to the seasonal average is not sufficient. Moreover, it has been seen that most of the goals that the teams scored were scored by foreign footballers, most football transfers were made from the continents of Europe and Africa. According to the findings of the research, it is recommended that the teams first and foremost form specialized scout teams, not to leave the transfer processes completely on the initiative of the managers, the preference of younger footballers in the transfer, the creation of transfer criteria by making certain legal regulations regarding foreign transfer.
