Abstract:

Purpose: In this study, the COVID-19 pandemic and social isolation in Turkey were aimed at reporting the levels of physical activity with the time the lower limb amputations spent outside, researching the relationship and differences with prothesis satisfaction and quality of life. Tools and Methods: The study included 77 individuals (K:18, E:59) with lower limb amputation at different levels. The time spent outside during social isolation was questioned through the level of physical activity (International Physical Activity Survey - UFAA), quality of life (Nottingham Health Profile Scale- NSPS) and prothesis satisfaction (Trinity Amputation and Prothesis Experience Scale - TAPDÖ) online survey. Results: The frequencies of output of individuals during the isolation process (day/week) are 40.3 % (1-3 days), 24.7 % (3-5 days) and 35.1 % (5-7 days). It was found that the UFAA scores were associated with the NSPS and TAPDÖ subparameters (p<0,05). Between the time categories spent outside during social isolation, the NHP physical activity scores and TAPES limitations found statistically meaningful differences in compliance, atlatic activity limitation, weight satisfaction and functional satisfaction results (p<0,05) Discussions: Covid-19 pandemic caused social isolation with a decrease in physical activity and the decrease in the quality of life and prothesis satisfaction of ampute individuals occurred. The increase in time spent outside during social isolation has been shown to make a difference on the quality of life and prothesis satisfaction.
