Abstract:

Nicholas Rescher is known for his extensive work in logic and philosophy in both Europe and America over the years. Starting his academic pursuits at a young age, Rescher focused particularly on Arabic logic, producing numerous works on the subject. The author of the text we are examining, Ahmet Kayacık, is also an academic who has dedicated years to research in the field of logic. As someone who has conducted several studies on Rescher in Turkey, Kayacık's work holds significant importance in the literature. He translated Rescher's work titled "Islamic Logic History" and personally translated four out of the fourteen chapters of the research work titled "Studies on Islamic Logic History," also serving as the translation editor for the publication. Both of these works have been published by Litera Publishing. The reason we chose to examine this particular work is rooted in these facts. While Rescher's two works have been translated into Turkish, it is impossible to encapsulate all his contributions to logic within these two books. Through Kayacık's efforts, it is possible to gain a more detailed understanding of Rescher and his body of work.
