Social Media Literacy As A Requirement Of The Digital Age
2019
Yazar:
Özet:

The rapid development of mobile technology has enabled new media to enter our daily lives. Connected to the network through social networks, regardless of time and space, has brought new media to the center of our lives. The change in new communication technologies poses certain risks especially for children and young people. Correct analysis, evaluation and interpretation of social media messages are important in this respect. This has led to the expansion of the concept of media literacy to include social media. The aim of the study is to raise awareness about the risks posed by social media by contributing to the awareness of individuals, especially children and adolescents, as a media consumer to critically evaluate social media messages. In this study, which aims to reveal the importance of social media literacy, the current situation is determined through literature review and the subject is discussed from a critical point of view.
