Abstract:

Health professionals are expected to be aware of the side effects and safety of medications, which are an important part of treatment. This is a social responsibility as a profession. This research aims to identify the unwanted effects of medications and the knowledge and experience of dentists from healthcare providers on the subject of pharmacovijilance. The survey method is preferred. Questions were prepared by researchers in the light of the terms and literature in the relevant legislation. Applications have been carried out at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of a foundation selected as the pilot area. In one hour the appointment was received, all the dentists in the dental hospital and available were gathered together and a collective survey was carried out. The survey was subsequently presented on the subject and the participants were informed about the subject by answering the questions. The survey included 32 dentists (approximately 70% of the faculty). The majority of doctors are women, and 37.5 percent of all participants are academic doctors. The majority of participants said they were doing the "frequent" drug application. 24 of the participants that the patient was traced. 71.9% of respondents said they did not experience a situation like a drug side effect. 90.6 percent of participants indicated that they did not know about pharmacovijilans. This research should be considered as a pilot study and should be repeated with a high number of participants in the fields where the dentists are located. This research is planned to provide the accumulation of information on the subject and will be drawn up.
