The effect of urbanization dynamics on crime in Turkey is examined within the context of this study. Factors evaluated were the size of cities, urbanization rate of the cities, level of development of the cities, gross domestic product per capita (GDP) of the cities, population density of the cities, and net migration rates; these were compared with the crime rates between 2000 and 2006. For instance, a city that does not have any of the mentioned characteristics can have the highest rate of crime commitments, such as in the case of Tunceli
