Tanzimat‟tan beri görülen klasik Türk şiiri eleştirilerinin en bilineni ve en umulmadık yerden geleni Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı‟nın “Divan Edebiyatı Beyanındadır” adlı kitabı olmuştur. Eser, 1945‟te yayımlanmasının ardından geniş yankı uyandırmış ve kitaba yönelik, kimi zaman sertleşen bir üslûpla, eleştiri yazıları kaleme alınmıştır. Bu makalede, “Divan Edebiyatı Beyanındadır”a eleştiri mahiyetinde yazılmış olan Orhan Şaik Gökyay‟ın “Bu da Divan Edebiyatı Beyanındadır”, Nurullah Ataç‟ın “Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı‟ya Mektup” yazıları ile Hilmi Yavuz‟un “Divan Edebiyatı Beyanındadır” şiiri ve “Mazmunları Gerçeklik Saymak” yazısındaki eleştirilerin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır
