Abstract This article aims to describe the discursive mechanisms that point to the exercise of a policy of life and governmentality in the Põe na Roda channel, available on YouTube. It is a channel that addresses, in a good-natured way, various subjects related to gay subjects. This research is linked to Foucauldian discursive studies, with an emphasis on understanding the production of subjectivities in the context of audiovisualities. As such, it adopts a descriptive-interpretative approach as a methodology, based on a qualitative approach. Furthermore, it is based on the Foucauldian archeogenealogical method, which strives for a cultural-historical analysis of the Discourse and the processes of subjectivation. To compose the corpus of this article, we selected a video available on the channel, which addresses government practices on the relationship of a couple. The analysis of discursive materiality pointed to the adoption, by the channel, of discursive mechanisms from which it exerts a policy of life and governmentality over Internet users who follow the videos. Such mechanisms are manifested through the practices of telling the truth, of building knowledge about the gay subjects who participate in the framework; either through the practices of confession, or through the ways of conducting oneself and the other.
