The aim of this descriptive study was to determine the opinions regarding spiritual care of midwives and nurses working in female healthcare fields. The study conducted in a women health and education research hospital and obstetrics wards of a university in Ankara. The samples of the research are 239 nurses and midwives. The data were collected using a survey form and “The Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale”. A statistical programme was used assesment of the data. The level of significance in statistical analysis was p <0.05 and descriptive statistics, t test and chi-square test was used in the analysis of the data. In this study, 45.2% of participant in the 25-34 age group, 70.3% of university graduates, 50.2% of nurses and 49.8% midwifery. 64.2% of the nurses and 61.3% of midwives indicated that they heard the concept spiritual care at research, 38.4% of participant stated that oncology patients, 31.3% all patientswould be need of spiritual care (p>0.05). The average score of the participant in the spirituality and spiritual care grading scale was found as 47.71±4.93. The spiritual care scale score was not influenced by whether the age, education, profession, the total years of employment, current employment field, and whether heard the concept spiritual care previously (p>0.05). According to the results, should be developed that is spiritual dimension of care knowledge and practices of nurses and midwives working in women health fields.
