Bu araştırmada, bir devlet ortaokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin “göç, göçmen, vatan, ülke ve savaş” kavramlarına yönelik algılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla belirlenen bir devlet ortaokuldan, Türkiye vatandaşlığına sahip ve aile geçmişi uzun yıllar Türkiye topraklarında olan 12 öğrenci ve Suriye iç savaşı nedeniyle Türkiye’de yaşayan vatandaşlık sahibi olmayan 11 göçmen öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 23 öğrenci çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri, belirlenen kavramların benzetileceği metaforun ve benzetme gerekçesinin yazılacağı cümlelerin yer aldığı form ile elde edilmiştir. Metafor formundan elde edilen veriler nitel araştırma yöntemlerine dayalı olarak içerik analizi yardımıyla çözümlenmiştir. Veri analizi sürecinde öğrenciler tarafından oluşturulan metaforlar sınıflandırılmış ve frekans değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma verileri bağlamında, öğrencilerin toplamda verilen kavramlara yönelik 92 farklı metafor oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğrenciler tarafından en fazla; kuş, taşınmak, yuva, aile, ev, kötü olay, insan, ayrılık, kavga ve vatan koruma metaforlarının üretildiği belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin genel anlamda göçmen, vatan ve ülke kavramlarını olumlu; göç ve savaş kavramlarını olumsuz metaforlarla ilişkilendirdiği ortaya konulmuştur. Yerli ve göçmen öğrencilerde var olan olumsuz yargıların ortadan kaldırılmasına yönelik çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.
This research aimed to determine the perceptions of students studying in a public secondary school towards the concepts of "immigration, immigrant, homeland, country, and war". A total of 23 students from a public secondary school determined for this purpose, 12 students who have Turkish citizenship and whose family history has been in Turkish territory for many years and 11 immigrant students without citizenship living in Turkey due to the Syrian civil war, formed the study group. The research data was obtained with a form containing the metaphor in which the determined concepts would be compared and the sentences in which the justification for the analogy would be written. The data obtained from the metaphor form was analyzed with the help of content analysis based on qualitative research methods. During the data analysis process, the metaphors created by the students were classified and their frequency values calculated. In the context of the study data, it was determined that the students created a total of 92 different metaphors for the given concepts. Mostly by students, it was determined that the metaphors of bird, moving, nest, family, house, bad event, human, separation, fight, and protecting the homeland were produced. Students generally have a positive understanding of the concepts of immigrant, homeland, and country. It has been revealed that he associates the concepts of migration and war with negative metaphors. It is recommended that studies be carried out to eliminate the negative judgments that exist among local and immigrant students.
