The study analyzed the characteristics of the goals of the four best teams of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. For this, data were used from the official website of the competition (www.fifa.com), besides recording the matches in order to collect the amount of passes, the origin of the move and place of assistance. The event had a total of 64 matches and 169 goals scored, with an average of 2.6 goals per game. Among the analyzed teams there was predominance of goals with the ball in play, prevailing the possession of ball of up to five exchanges of pass to the goal. Belgium and Croatia stood out for presenting greater speed of attack in their goals, while France had more possession and England was more effective in the stands. Furthermore, the place of origin and assistance of the plays varied greatly according to the game characteristics of each team.
