Abstract:

Children's literature works must be qualified works that address the development, level, characteristics and interests of children. In this context, children’s books should be studied. In this study, one of our contemporary children's literature writers, Solomon Cloud, has studied the suitability of the story book "Children's Rights" consisting of five books in the set in terms of children's literature. The study is an illustrative research and is done based on the method of document examination. The interior and external structural characteristics of the works selected as examples are assessed in terms of conformity to child literature. The books, as the interior characteristics; the theme, the subject, the heroes, the language and the narrative; as the external characteristics of the structure, are studied in terms of cover, size, skin, paper, picture and page layout. In the works studied by two different researchers, it was determined that the topics and subjects suitable for children were selected, that an original language was used, that phrases and twistings were intensively processed. The external structural characteristics of the works are also found to be prepared in accordance with the developmental levels of the children. The works are works that address the levels of children in terms of internal and external structural characteristics and are appropriate to children’s literature; they are among the resources that educators, families and children should take advantage of.
