Homework is an important component of the learning process. Educators and parents have always been one of their interests. School administrators and teachers want to use their homework effectively to ensure that students learn outside the classroom as well. It is one of the reasons why homework is often preferred by educators as well as reinforcing what students have learned in school, preparing them for new learning and facilitating self-learning. The quantity, quality and tasks of the stakeholders involved in the implementation process should be well planned, carried out in a common understanding and in harmony. In this process, it is considered that it is important to examine the homework concepts and practices of the students who have achieved success in international exams at various educational levels. The aim of this study is to examine the homework understanding and practices of Hong Kong and to reveal the homework which has important contributions to the learning-teaching process. For this purpose, Hong Kong's “Basic Education Program Guide” and “Primary School General Studies Program Guide” were examined. The qualitative research approach was adopted and the data of the research was obtained by document review. Research data were analyzed by content analysis. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: According to the Hong Kong education curriculum, school homework policy is established. The characteristics of school homework policy are determined. Teachers should consider certain principles when creating homework. Students should be given feedback about homework. Assignments have important duties on their parents.
