Bir kişinin mizacını, karakterini, tabiatını ifade eden “meşreb” kavramı, şairler söz konusu olduğunda şiirlerinin üslup ve içeriğine de etki eden önemli bir husus olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu noktada, Fehîm-i Kadîm’in kaleme aldığı “meşreb” redifli gazel, “meşreb” kavramı etrafında bir şairin kendi meşrebine hayal ve imaj yüklü bir anlatım içinde getirdiği yorumlar açısından dikkate değer bir şiirdir. 17. yüzyılda yaşayan Fehîm-i Kadîm’in “meşreb” gazeline 18. yüzyılda Esrâr Dede, 19. yüzyılda ise Leskofçalı Gâlib Bey nazire söylemişlerdir. Fehîm-i Kadîm’in şiirinde hâkim olan meşrep, aşkla dolu çılgın bir âşığın kendinden geçmesi, pervane (gece kelebeği) gibi yanması ve aşkın ikliminde çılgın bir coşku ile aşk şarabını yudumlayıp mest (sarhoş) olması şeklinde özetlenebilir. Fehîm’in şiirine hâkim olan bu meşrebin Esrâr Dede ve Leskofçalı Gâlib’i de etkilediği ve söz konusu şiirlerin içerik ve üslubunu ana hatlarıyla belirlediği söylenebilir. Bununla birlikte Esrâr Dede ve Gâlib Bey, şiirlerinde kendilerine has duyuş ve tarzı da yansıtarak sözlerine kendi meşreplerinin damgasını vurmuşlardır. Esrâr Dede’nin şiirinde tasavvuf ve özellikle Mevleviliğe dair imajlar, bazı zıt unsurların uyum içinde şaşırtıcı kullanımı söze ayrı bir derinlik katmıştır. Gâlib Bey ise sade gibi görünen anlatımının arkasına derin bir aşk ve varlık anlayışı sığdırmıştır. Her üç şairin meşreplerinde aşk ve aşka bağlı divanelik, kendinden geçiş, yanış gibi coşkulu hâller öne çıkar.
