Abstract:

In this study, we determine vendor locations of a company operating in the automotive sector among the various provinces in Turkey. We aim to minimize carbon emissions and transportation costs in this problem. Therefore, we review the p-median facility location problem in the literature. We calculate the existing vendor locations and distances between the demand points and, the amount of carbon emissions arising from the transportation activities of potential vendors to the demand points. We evaluate the distances and carbon emission using a mathematical model and suggest the facility locations accounting for environmental concerns.
