Gönüllülük olgusunun ve gönüllü çalışmalarının hem toplumsal refaha dolayısıyla da ülkelerin sosyoekonomik gelişimine katkı sağladığı hem de bireyler arası dayanışmayı ve ilişkileri güçlendirdiği, sosyal dışlanmanın olduğu yerlerde sosyal içer il meye katkıda bulunduğu bilindik bir gerçektir. Bu katkıları nedeniyle gönüllülüğün ve gönüllülük çalışmalarının toplumsal gelişim açısından önemli bir rol oynadığı söylenebilmektedir. Toplumsal gelişim açısından önemli bir işleve sahip olduğu kabul edilen gönüllülük olgusunun sosyolojik bakışla nasıl ele alındığı, hangi kuram ve yaklaşımlarla açıklanabileceği gönüllülük ile ilgili yapılacak sosyolojik çalışmalar için yol gösterici olacaktır. Bu çalışmada işlevselcilik, rasyonel tercih kuramları ve sosyal sermaye teorisi kullanılarak gönüllülük olgusunun daha net anlaşılabileceği ve sosyolojik çalışmalarda kullanılabileceği öngörülmüştür. Bu çerçevede bu çalışmada, “gönüllülük bireysel bir eylem olarak nasıl anlaşılabilir”, “gönüllülük olgusu sosyolojik teorilerle nasıl anlamlandırılabilir/açıklanabilir” ve seçilen teorilerden hangisi gönüllülük olgusunu anlamaya/açıklamaya en fazla yaklaşır” soruları üzerinden herbir kuramın gönüllülük olgusunu nasıl ele alabileceğine, hangi odaklar üzerinden gönüllülük olgusunu açıklayabileceklerine yönelik bir anlama denemesine girişilmektedir. Bu bağlamda kuramların olanakları ve eksikliklerine de odaklanmayı hedeflemektedir
It is a well-known fact that the phenomenon of volunteering and its voluntary work contributed to both social welfare and the socio-economic development of the countries, as well as strengthening the interpersonal solidarity and relationships, social exclusion contributed to the social inheritance of the province. Because of these contributions, volunteering and volunteering work can be said to play an important role in social development. It will be a guide to how the fact of volunteering which is believed to have an important function in terms of social development is addressed from a sociological point of view, which theories and approaches can be explained to the sociological studies on volunteering. In this study, it is predicted that using functionality, rational preference theories and social capital theory, the fact of volunteering can be more clearly understood and used in sociological studies. In this framework, this study, through the questions "how to understand voluntarism as an individual action", "how to understand/explain the phenomenon of voluntarism by sociological theories" and which of the selected theories is closest to understanding/explain the phenomenon of voluntarism", is introduced to a trial of understanding of how each theory can deal with the phenomenon of voluntarism, and through which focus they can explain the phenomenon of voluntarism. In this context, he also focuses on the possibilities and deficiencies of the theories.
It is a well-known reality that volunteering fact and voluntary activities not only make contribution to the social welfare, thus socio-economic development of countries but also strengthen the relationships and solidarity among people and contribute to social inclusion where social exclusion is observed. It can be said that volunteering and voluntary activities play an important role for social development because of such contributions. The consideration and explanation of volunteering, accepted as having an important function for social development, by sociology according to the certain theories and approaches will be instructive for sociological studies related to volunteering. It is foreseen in this study that the volunteering fact may be clearly understood and used in sociological studies by using functionalism, rational choice theory and social capital theory. In this frame, it is tried to understand how each of these theories considers volunteering fact and how they can explain volunteering fact in terms of certain centers through the questions such as “how can volunteering be understood as an individual action, “how can volunteering fact be interpreted/explained by using sociological theories” and ‘which theory is the most appropriate one to understood/explain volunteering fact” in this study. In this context, it is also aimed to focus on opportunities and deficiencies of such theories
