In this study effect of dysfunctional attitude and negative automatic thoughts on depression in university students were examined. 588 students studying at the university participated in the research. Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale, Automatic Thoughts Questionnare Scale and Beck Depression Scale were administered to the students. The relationship between variables is examined by the Pearson Moments Product Correlation Coefficient. All the variables included in the study were found to have a significant correlation with each other. The effect of dysfunctional attitude and negative automatic thoughts on depression were examined by regression analysis. The results of the study revealed that university students' effect of dysfunctional attitude and negative automatic thoughts on depression. Dysfunctional attitude and negative automatic thoughts explain 23.9% of the variance in the depression.
