Lumiere kardeşlerin ilk defa gösterim aygıtı olarak geliştirdiği sinematograf(cinematograph) ortaya çıkarıldığından beri, sinema birçok kez içeriksel açıdan değişimleri deneyimleyen bir alan olmuştur. Lumiere kardeşler bu aygıtı kullan arak belgesel tarzda nitelendirilebilecek sosyal hayatın olağan görüntülerini kayıt altına almışlardır. Lumiere kardeşler sinematografı önemli bir cihaz olarak görmediler.Melies ise bu aygıt ile bir şeylerin anlatılabileceği, bu aygıtın bir geleceğinin olabileceği düşüncesiyle ilk hikayeci anlatı filmleriyle sinema alanına farklı içeriksel bir görünüm sunmuştur. Melies’in bu biçemsel anlatı yolu, geleneksel(klasik) yapıdaki filmlerin temelini oluşturduğu düşünülmektedir. Sinema alanında Melies ile başlayan Brecht’ci anlayış bu dönemlerden sonra sinema alanında kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Bu klasik anlatı sayılabilen filmler izleyici üzerinde etkiler bırakarak, izleyicinin kendisini filmsel ortamda hissederek, yapay gerçekliğin aslında kendisinin de o gerçeklikte bir yeri olduğunu hissetmesidir. 19. yüzyılın önemli gelişmelerinden sayılan modernite yükselişe geçmiş ve kimi kuramcılar tarafından “modernizm” kavramı ortaya atılmıştır. Modernizm modernitenin insalığa getirdiği olumsuz sayılabilecek olayların karşısında bir tanım olarak kuramcılar tarafından kullanılmıştır. Sinema alanında modernizm, modernitenin olumsuz etkilerini, Fransız Yeni Dalga, İtalyan Yeni Gerçekçilik ve Avangard gibi akımlarla kendisini göstermiştir. Modernizm sinemasında yönetmenler, aktarmak istediklerini farklı biçimsel öğelerle dolaylı veya doğrudan bir şekilde aktarmaya çalışmışlardır. Modernizm dönemi sinemasına bir başkaldırı gibi görünen ancak hem modernizmin hem de geleneksel anlatının içerisinden kendinde izler bulan postmodernist dönem bu dönemden sonra ortaya çıkmıştır. Postmodernist döneme, alıntılar kümesi, geçmişle şu anda kendinde parçalar bulan bir okuma yöntemi olarak bakılır. Postmodernist dönem sineması, modernist dönem sineması gibi gelenekseli reddetmez, devamlı alışveriş içerisindedir. Postmodernist dönemde sinemada, geçmiş filmlerden alıntılar, pastiş ve parodi gibi kavramlar kullanır. Bu dönem sinemasında yenilikçi bakış olarak filmlerarasılık-metinlerarasılık kavramları üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmam postmodern sinema ile ilgili literatürdeki bilgi eksikliğinin giderileceği düşüncesiyle oluşturulmuştur. Alakalı kaynaklar taranarak ve çeşitli filmler üzerinde inceleme yapılarak çalışmam desteklenmeye çalışılmıştır.
Since the introduction of the cinematograph (cinematograph), which the Lumiere brothers developed for the first time as a display device, cinema has been a field that has experienced changes in terms of content many times. Using this device, the Lumiere brothers recorded the usual images of social life, which can be characterized in a documentary style. The Lumiere brothers did not consider the cinematograph an important device.Melies, on the other hand, presented a different contextual view of the cinema field with his first storyteller narrative films with the idea that something can be told with this device and that this device may have a future. This stylistic narrative path of Melies is considered to be the basis of films of a traditional(classical) structure. It is seen that the Brechtian understanding, which started with Melies in the field of cinema, was used in the field of cinema after these periods. These classic narrative films leave effects on the viewer, the viewer feels himself in the filmic environment, the artificial reality actually feels that he himself has a place in that reality. 19. modernity, which is considered one of the important developments of the century, has been on the rise and the concept of “modernism” has been put forward by some theorists. Modernism has been used by theorists as a definition in the face of the negative events that modernity brings to humanity. In the field of cinema, modernism, the negative effects of modernity, the French New Wave, Italian Neorealism and Avant-Garde has shown itself with movements such as Avant-Garde. In the cinema of modernism, directors have tried to convey what they want to convey indirectly or directly with different formal elements. The postmodernist period, which seems to be a rebellion against the cinema of the Modernism period, but finds traces in itself from both modernism and the traditional narrative, emerged after this period. The Postmodernist period is looked at as a set of quotations, a reading method that finds parts in the past and the present in itself. The cinema of the postmodernist period, like the cinema of the modernist period, does not reject the traditional, it is constantly shopping. In the cinema of the postmodernist period, he uses concepts such as excerpts from past films, pastiche and parody. As an innovative point of view in the cinema of this period, the concepts of inter-film-intertextuality were focused on. My work has been created with the idea that the lack of information in the literature about postmodern cinema will be eliminated. We have tried to support my work by scanning relevant sources and reviewing various films.
