Bir ürünü diğerlerinden ayırmaya yarayan ve o ürünün farklı yanını vurgulayan coğrafi işaret kavramı, aynı zamanda tüketicinin seyahat motivasyonlarını, destinasyon tercihlerini ve satın alma niyetlerini de etkilemektedir. Bu kavrama sahip olan ülkeler, bölgeler ve şehirler daha görünür hale gelmektedir. Bu çalışma çok zengin bir mutfak kültürüne sahip olduğu bilinen Türkiye’nin coğrafi işaret tescil faaliyetlerinin mevcut durumunu “yemekler ve çorbalar” kategorisinde yer alan çorbalar bağlamında ele alarak ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda yapılan araştırmada “Türkiye’nin coğrafi işaret belgesine sahip çorba varlığı bölgelere ve illere göre nasıl bir dağılım göstermektedir ?” , “Coğrafi işaretli çorbaların tescil çalışmaları tüzel kişiliklere ve tescil tarihlerine göre nasıl bir dağılıma sahiptir? ” ve “Tescil başvurusu yapılmış çorbalar bölgelere ve başvuru yıllarına göre nasıl bir dağılım göstermektedir?” sorularına yanıt aranmıştır. Araştırma Türk Patent ve Marka Kurumu’nun veri tabanı esas alınarak yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgular çorba tescillerinin daha ziyade belediyelere ait olduğunu ve tescil başvurularının geçmişten günümüze artan bir eğime sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
The concept of geographical indication, which serves to distinguish a product from others and emphasizes the different side of that product, also affects the travel motivations, destination preferences and purchase intentions of the consumer. Countries, regions and cities that have this concept are becoming more visible. This study aims to reveal the current status of geographical indication registration activities in Turkey, which is known to have a very rich culinary culture, in the context of soups in the "dishes and soups" category. In the research conducted for this purpose, “What is the distribution of soup assets with geographical indication certificate in Turkey according to regions and provinces?”. “How does the registration work of geographically marked soups show a distribution according to the registration years and legal entities? ” and “How is the distribution of the soups for which the registration application has been made, according to the regions and application years?” answers to the questions were sought. The research was carried out based on the database of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. The findings reveal that soup registrations mostly belong to municipalities and registration applications have an increasing trend from past to present.
