Bu çalışmada, Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk üzerinden Kaşgarlı Mahmud’un millet anlayışının dolayısıyla 11. yüzyıl Türk kültüründeki “ben” ve “öteki” tanımlamalarının tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Bu çerçevede Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’te görülen Türk algısıyla birlikte, dil, din ve coğrafya konularının ben ve ötekiyi belirlemede ne şekilde işlendiği göz önünde tutulmuştur. -Bu çalışmada, Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk üzerinden Kaşgarlı Mahmud’un millet anlayışının dolayısıyla 11. yüzyıl Türk kültüründeki “ben” ve “öteki” tanımlamalarının tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Bekleneceği üzere merkezinde Türk’ün bulunduğu ancak kuralların kimi zaman silikleştiği “ben”lik algısında, Türkçe ve İslamiyet’in nasıl konumlandırıldığı ve bu eksende “öteki”nin nasıl tarif edildiği araştırmanın bir başka odağını teşkil etmektedir. Kaşgarlı Mahmud’un arzu ettiği vasıflarla donan-mış Türk tarifi de Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’ün üzerinde durduğu konular arasındadır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında, eserdeki “ben” tarifi ile Türklerin cihanşümul siyaset anlayışının yakından ilgili olduğu gözlemlenmiş, Arapça-Türkçe sözlük olması hasebiyle, Arap kültürünün bu husustaki durumu da göz önün-de bulundurulmuştur. Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’te, Fars kültürüne, Karahanlılar yanında Oğuzlar münasebetiyle de sıkça işaret edildiği görülür. Bu işaret “Tat” gibi kavramlar üzerinden Kaşgarlı Mahmud’un özellikle dil çerçevesinde “millî” ve “gayrı millî”yi tanımlamasına yardımcı olmuştur. Farslar için kullanılan ve çoğu ötekiyi ifade eden kimi kavramların, zaman zaman başka etnik gruplar için de kullanılması çalışmamızda bazı kavram kargaşalarının da izahını gerektirmiştir. Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’te tespit edilen, Türklerin Tanrı tarafından kutsanmış bir millet olması inancı da hem Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’te hem de Türk tarihindeki seyriyle bu çalışmanın ele almaya çalıştığı konular arasındadır.
In this study, the aim of the Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk is to identify the definitions of "I" and "Other" in the 11th century Turkish culture due to the people's understanding of the Kaşgarli Mahmud. In this framework, along with the Turkish perception seen in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, the language, religion and geography issues have been taken into account in determining how I and others are processed. In this study, the aim of the Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk is to identify the definitions of "I" and "Other" in the 11th century Turkish culture due to the people's understanding of the Kaşgarli Mahmud. In the perception of "I" where the Turkish is in the center as expected, but the rules are sometimes dissolved, it constitutes another focus of the research of how the Turkish and Islamic are positioned and how the "other" is described in this axis. The armed Turkish description with the qualities the Kashmir Mahmud desires is also among the topics that Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk stands on. In light of the data obtained, the description of the "I" in the work has been observed that the Turkish political understanding is closely related, the Arabic-Turkish dictionary has been considered, the situation of the Arab culture in this regard has also been considered. In Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, it is often seen that the Fars culture, along with the Karahanis, is also marked by the Son's interest. This sign has Kazakh Mahmoud to define "milli" and "milli" in the language framework through concepts such as "Tat". The use of some concepts used for Persians and most expressing others, sometimes used for other ethnic groups in our study, also requires the explanation of some conceptual confusions. The belief that the Turks are a nation blessed by God, which was found in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, is also among the topics that this work tries to deal with both in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk and with its journey in Turkish history.
