Günümüz müzeciliğinin geldiği noktadan bahsedebilmek için öncelikle çağdaş müzecilikten ve bunun bir neticesi olarak gelişen ve kapsamını, anlayışını geliştiren müze eğitiminden söz etmek yerinde olacaktır. Nitekim müze eğitimi hem müzecilik hem de eğitimde sunulan bilginin kalıcılığı açısından oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Özellikle küreselleşmenin etkisiyle ve okulun tek eğitim alma mekânı olmaktan çıkmasıyla, müze eğitimi ve bir yönüyle de müze ile eğitim, hızlı bir şekilde gelişme göstermiş ve eğitim kurumlarının başvurduğu bir eğitim yöntemi haline gelmiştir. Bu durum, müzelerin eğitim odaklı programlar, sergiler ve çok sayıda etkinlikler düzenlemesine neden olmuştur. Böylelikle müzeler, yalnızca eski eserlerin teşhir edildiği mekânlar olarak algılanmanın dışına çıkmışlardır. Müze eğitiminin yaygınlaşması, özellikle okul çağındaki çocuklar üzerinde daha çok fayda sağlamıştır. Nitekim çocukların yaparak, yaşayarak, deneyimleyerek öğrenmelerinin mümkün olduğu müzeler, ziyaretçilerin özellikle okul çağındaki ziyaretçilerin, ilgi odağı olmuştur. Çocukların müzelerden yararlanmaları nesne merkezli öğrenme bağlamında oldukça önemli bir yere sahiptir. Literatür taramasına dayalı olarak yapılan bu çalışmada, müzelerin eğitim içindeki yeri dünya üzerinde faaliyet gösteren örnekleriyle ortaya konulmuş ve kalıcı bir öğrenmenin sağlanabilmesi için bu kurumlara ne kadar ihtiyaç duyulduğuna dikkat çekilmiştir. Bu yapılırken de eğitimin ayrılmaz bir parçası olan müzelerin adeta bir laboratuvar gibi öğrenme sürecinde kullanılmasının sağladığı yararların dikkate alınması ve eğitim yönetimi bakımından da dikkate alınması amaçlanmıştır.
To be able to talk about the point where today’s museum comes, it will be possible to talk first of all about contemporary museum and, as a result, the museum education that develops and develops its scope, its understanding. In fact, the museum education is of great importance in terms of the durability of the information provided in both the museum and the education. Especially with the influence of globalization and the outcome of the school to be the only place to receive education, museum education and in a sense, museum and education have rapidly evolved and have become a method of education that educational institutions apply. This has led to the museums to organize educational-focused programs, exhibitions and numerous events. Thus, the museums were out of perception only as places where ancient works were presented. The spread of museum education has been more beneficial to children, especially in school age. In fact, the museums where children can learn by making, living, experiencing, have been the focus of interest of visitors, especially in school age. The children’s profits of the museums have a very important place in the context of object-centered learning. This study, based on literature scan, revealed the place of museums in education with examples of the world’s activities and noted how much these institutions are needed to ensure permanent learning. It is also intended to take into account the benefits of the use of museums, which are an integral part of education, in the learning process as a laboratory, and to take into account in terms of education management.
