Son yıllarda kitlesel turizm hareketlerinin çevre üzerinde yarattığı olumsuz etkiler alternatif turizm türlerine olan ilgiyi artırmaktadır. Ülkemizde alternatif turizm açısından geliştirilmesi gereken önemli türlerden biri de termal turizmdir. Kahramanmaraş Akdeniz bölgesinde yer alan sıcak ve soğuk şifalı su kaynakları bakımından zengin bir ilimizdir. Bu doğrultuda araştırmanın amacı, Kahramanmaraş Onikişubat ilçesinde yer alan Ilıca kaplıcalarının termal turizm potansiyelini ortaya koymak ve ziyaret edenlerin termal turizm algısı ile termal turizmden beklentilerini betimlemektir. Çalışma nitel araştırma deseninde kurgulanmış olup, ikincil verilerden de yararlanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Ilıca kaplıcalarını ziyaret eden 20 kişi ile derinlemesine mülakat yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler betimsel analize tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular, Ilıca kaplıcalarının sağlık sorunları nedeniyle tercih edildiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca tanıtım ve reklam kampanyalarının eksik olduğu ve bölgeye ulaşımın yetersiz olduğu da elde edilen önemli bulgular arasındadır.
The negative effects of mass tourism movements on the environment in recent years have increased interest in alternative tourism types. One of the important types of alternative tourism that needs to be developed in our country is thermal tourism. Kahramanmaraş is a rich province of hot and cold healing water resources located in the Mediterranean region. In this direction, the purpose of the research is to reveal the thermal tourism potential of the Ilıca captivates located in Kahramanmaraş Onikişubat district and to illustrate the expectations of visitors from thermal tourism with the perception of thermal tourism. The work is based on the research pattern and is also used by secondary data. In this context, a deep interview was made with 20 people who visited the Ilıca cottage. The data obtained is subject to visual analysis. The findings obtained in the study show that Ilıca caps are preferred because of health problems. It is also one of the important findings that advertising and advertising campaigns are missing and the transportation to the region is not sufficient.

The study was designed as a qualitative research design and both primary and secondary data were used. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 people who visited the Ilıca springs. The data were analyzed through descriptive technique. The findings of the study have shown that the thermal springs are preferred for health issues. In addition, the lack of publicity and advertising campaigns, insufficient transportation facilities are might be regarded as other critical results.
