Abstract:

Objective: In magnetic resonance imaging (MRG) the objective was to detect variations in the perspective of biseps-glenoids in the detected incidents of biseps long-head tendon subluxation (BUBT) and to evaluate the relationship with subcapularis tendon pathologies. Tools and Methods: From January 2014-March 2018 the shoulder magnetic resonance images taken at the Department of Radiology of the University of Kırıkkale School of Medicine were studied. In BUBT, 30 patients with subluxation and 32 controlled patients without subluxation were compared. In T2 weighted shape-coronal MRG images, the BUBT's supraglenoid tuberculosis adhesion level passed, the biseps glenoid angle was measured between the parallel line drawn to the biseps tendon and the glenoid bone roof drawn to the roof line. Also, subcapular tendon pathologies were analyzed in terms of normal, partial and full layer breakdowns.  Results: 12 men and 18 women in the group with subluxation in BUBT, with an average age of 61.0±13.6 years. In BUBT, the group without subluxation was 14 men and 18 women, with an average age of 55.9 ± 14.0 years. The average biseps-glenoid angle in the subluxation group was 84.1o±4.9o and 92.8o±4.7o in the non-subluxation group (p<0.05). In 80% of subluxation cases in BUBT, subcapular tendon pathology was also present. In patients with subluxation in BUBT, the biseps-glenoid angle values are low compared to those without subluxation. BUBT subluxation may help in the diagnosis of biseps-glenoid angle measurement in circumstances. Also, BUBT subluxation is often accompanied by subcapular tendon pathologies.
