Abstract:

In this study, the predictive role of psychological flexibility, self-efficacy, and communication skills variables on teacher candidates’ life satisfaction was examined. The research group consisted of a total of 438 teacher candidates, 175 (40%) male, and 263 (60%) female, studying at the education faculties of different universities in Turkey in the 2021 - 2022 academic year. “Life Satisfaction Scale, “Psychological Flexibility Scale”, “General Self-Efficacy Scale”, “Communication Skills Scale” and “Personal Information Form” were used as data collection tools. As a result of the examination of the data obtained from the teacher candidates in the study, it was determined that the data were suitable for “multiple linear regression analysis (stepwise)”. In this context, the analysis of the research data was carried out with the “multiple linear regression analysis (stepwise) method”. In the study, it was concluded that there was a significant positive correlation between life satisfaction and psychological flexibility, self-efficacy, and communication skills, and that psychological flexibility, self-efficacy, and communication skills variables were significant predictors of life satisfaction variable. The variables of psychological flexibility, self-efficacy, and communication skills together explain approximately 32% of the total variance regarding life satisfaction of teacher candidates. It was observed that “psychological flexibility” in the first place, “self-efficacy” in the second place, and “communication skills” in the third place predicted the life satisfaction of teacher candidates significantly.
