The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical capabilities of youth athletes from Mancha E.C. from the city of Araguari-MG during a season. We included male athletes aged 16 and 17 years who underwent three assessments at the beginning, middle and end of the season. Athletes were submitted to aerobic capacity assessments, agility test, upper limb power, lower limb power, flexibility, upper limb endurance, abdominal resistance and ankle mobility. The one-entry analysis of variance test with Bonferroni's posthoc was used to analyze the significant differences between season moments (pre vs mid vs late) having a significance level when p<0.05. It was found that all the results found in the middle and end of the season were significantly better compared to the pre-season (p<0.001). In addition, it is observed that the agility test values (p=0.03), vertical jump (p<0.001), and flexibility (p=0.02) showed a significant difference between the end of the season and the middle of the season. It is concluded that there was an improvement in the physical capacities of base category athletes during a season of physical training.
