Edebiyatın önemli türlerinden biri olan roman üzerine araştırmalar hala devam etmekte, bilim insanları romanın özelliklerinin belirlenmesi ve sınıflandırılması için çalışmaktadır. Tematik olarak tarihi, psikolojik, macera gibi ayrılan roman türlerine konu ve içerik bütünlüğü nedeniyle aile romanını da eklemek gerekmektedir. Dünya edebiyatlarından farklı yazarların bu konuyu işleyiş tarzı ve bu türdeki eserlerin benzer özellikler taşıması, aile romanın ayrı bir tür olarak kabul edilmesi ve konu üzerine çalışmalar yapılması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Rus edebiyatının önemli yazarlarından Maksim Gorki’nin toplumsal hayatı ve insanların değişimini anlattığı eseri Artamonovlar Дело Артамоновых aile romanı türünün önemli örnekleri arasındadır. Eserde üç kuşak Artamonov ailesinin yaşamı ekseninde 1861 yılında toprak köleliğinin kaldırılmasından 1917 Ekim Devrimine kadar geçen süre boyunca toplumsal hayattaki değişiklikler anlatılmaktadır. Makalenin ilk bölümünde aile romanın önemli özellikleri belirlenmekte ve dünya edebiyatından örnekler verilmektedir. İkinci bölümde Artamonovlar eseri incelenmekte, romanın merkezindeki aile ile toplumda yaşanan değişiklikler ilişkilendirilerek eserin aile romanı türüne örnek teşkil ettiği gösterilmektedir
Research on the novel, one of the important types of literature, is still ongoing, and scientists are working to identify and classify the characteristics of the novel. Thematically, it is necessary to add family novel because of the theme and content integrity to the types of novels that are dedicated to history, psychology, and adventure. Different writers from world literature show the style of handling this topic and the similar characteristics of such works, that family novel should be recognized as a separate type and that the subject should be studied. The work of Maxim Gorki, an important writer of Russian literature, describes the social life and the change of people (???? Is it?????? This is one of the most important examples of family novel. In the life axis of the three generations of the Artamonov family, the work describes the changes in social life during the period from the abolition of land slavery in 1861 to the October Revolution in 1917. The first part of the article identifies the important characteristics of the family novel and gives examples of world literature. In the second part, Artamonov’s work is studied, and it is shown that the work is an example of the type of family novel by linking the changes in the family and society in the center of the novel.

It is also necessary to add family novels because of the relevancy of the subject and content of the novel genres which are categorized as thematically as historical, psychological and adventure. The way that different authors from World Literature work on this subject and the similar features of such works show that family novels should be considered as separate species and studies should be done on the subject. A prominent author of Russian literature Maxim Gorky's novel The Artamonov Business, which tells about social life and people's change, is among the important examples of the family novel genre. The novel describes the changes in social life during the period from the abolition of land slavery in 1861 to the October 1917 revolution in the life axis of the three generations of the Artamonov family. In the first part of the article, important characteristics of family novels are determined and examples from world literature are given. The second part explores The Artamonov Business and shows that the novel is an example of the family novel genre by associating the changes experienced in the family and society in the center of the novel.
