Abstract:

With the influence of globalization, the interaction between countries has increased. As a result of the interaction between countries, cultures have also begun to be influenced by each other. In recent years, people have been forced to migrate to different countries and different geographies for compulsory reasons such as war, natural disasters, or for voluntary reasons such as creating new job opportunities, education. These immigration movements have naturally caused people to transfer their cultural values and living conditions to the countries where they went. With the changes in the social structure, cultural wealth has increased and countries have begun to shape their policies in the axis of multiculturality. In addition to social and cultural studies, multiculturalism has also begun to be discussed, especially in the field of education. The main starting point of the work prepared from here is the need for the states to take into account the idea of cultural wealth and multiculturality in the formation of their educational policies. In the educational systems where the multicultural understanding is prioritized, the idea of a respectful and tolerant approach to different cultures is the basic claim of the study that students in schools are given values such as love, sharing, tolerance, mercy and respect. The main objective of the work prepared on the basis of this claim is that the subject of multiculturality in the Turkish educational system and in the educational program is subject to evaluation through the Primary School Life Information and Social Information Books. In this regard, the work was first included in the conceptual information on the subject of multiculturality and the subject of multiculturality in education. Finally, Primary School Life Knowledge and Social Knowledge curriculum books have been evaluated in the multicultural theme axis. Data source in the study prepared using the document analysis technique of the quality research methods 2019 year 1. 2 and 3. School of Life and Class 4. Class Social Knowledge is the curriculum and the related collection of educational-learning curricula and programs. The data obtained by the study of the relevant curricula and books are subject to quality content analysis, the findings are drawn up and thrown into information. The study finds that Life Knowledge and Social Knowledge courses are emphasized on multiculturality in the general objectives, descriptions and achievements of the curricula; in Social Knowledge courses and curricula resources, more emphasized on the concept of multiculturality as achievements compared to Life Knowledge courses.
