Introduction: Obesity, considered a disease of multifactorial etiology, has several forms of treatment, including surgical treatments, such as sleeve gastrectomy and derivatives. Procedures can vary significantly in immediate success and long-term maintenance of results. Objective: To compare two methods of bariatric surgery for the treatment of morbid obesity in terms of weight reduction, nutritional risks and weight regain. Materials and Methods: This was a longitudinal study, which used secondary data from patients who underwent bariatric surgery using Sleevee Bypass Gastric methods, from 2013 to 2017, in a private clinic in Caxias do Sul. Data analysis was performed using T-Test for individual data using SPSS Statistical Software version 19.0. Results: Of the 124 medical records analyzed, 90% were from female patients. The mean age of patients was 39 years. The most prevalent type of overweight was grade III obesity (75%). The mean weight loss in the first six months after surgery was 29.54 kg. Comorbidities were mostly related to the gastrointestinal system. It was not possible to assess weight regain and nutritional risks due to the low return of patients to follow-up treatment. Conclusion: Both surgical methods were efficient in terms of weight loss. The patients' lack of adherence to post-surgical follow-up did not make it possible to compare the methods in terms of nutritional risks and weight regain.
