Matematik Laboratuvar Uygulamalarının Sınıf ve Okul Öncesi Öğretmen Adaylarının Matematik Başarı ve Tutumlarına Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Yapılan bu araştırma, matematik laboratuvar uygulamalarının sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının matematiğe yönelik tutumlarına, matematik başarılarına ve öğrendiklerini hatırda tutmalarına etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden deneysel desenli yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2017 öğrenim yılında Dicle Üniversitesi Sınıf ve Okul Öncesi Öğretmenliği bölümde öğrenim gören 100 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verilerini toplamak için araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen başarı testi ve İnan (2007) tarafından geliştirilen tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Başarı testi ve tutum ölçeği hem uygulama öncesi hem de uygulama sonrası sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarına uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde bağımlı ve bağımsız t-testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, matematik laboratuvar uygulamalarının sınıf öğretmen adaylarının matematiğe yönelik tutum ve matematik başarılarına olumlu etkisi olduğu söylenebilir. Okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının ise matematik başarılarında olumlu etkisi olduğu ancak matematiğe yönelik tutumlarında herhangi bir etkisi olmadığı söylenebilir.

The Effect of Mathematical Laboratory Applications on Class and Pre-School Teacher Candidates' Mathematical Success and Attitudes

Abstract:

This research aims to study the impact of mathematical laboratory practices on class and pre-school teachers' attitudes towards mathematics, mathematical achievements and how they keep in mind what they learn. In the study, experimental pattern methods were used from quantum research methods. The sample of the study is made up of 100 teachers candidates who studied in the Dicle University Class and Pre-School Teaching Department in the 2017 study year. The success test developed by researchers to collect the research data and the attitude scale developed by Inan (2007) were used. The success test and attitude scale are applied to both pre- and post-application class and pre-school teacher candidates. The data obtained in the study was analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) package program. In the analysis of the data; dependent and independent T-test was used. According to the research results, mathematical laboratory practices can be said to have a positive impact on the attitude and mathematical achievements of class teacher candidates. It can be said that pre-school teacher candidates have a positive impact on mathematical achievements but have no impact on their attitudes towards mathematics.

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of mathematics laboratory applications on mathematics attitudes, mathematics achievements and knowledge retention of pre-service classroom and preschool teachers. Experimental design method was used in the study. The study sample included 100 pre-service teachers attending Dicle University 2017 academic year. The achievement test developed by the authors and the attitude scale developed by İnan (2007) were used to collect the study data. The achievement test and attitude scale were applied as both pre-test and post-test to pre-service teachers. The data were analyzed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software. Data analysis was conducted with dependent and independent t-test. Study results demonstrated that mathematics laboratory applications had a positive impact on mathematics achievement and attitudes. It could be argued that they had a positive impact on mathematics achievement scores of pre-service preschool teachers, however they had no effect on their mathematics attitudes.
