Today no political approach ignores the concept freedom and equality and does not stand against them. However although these two concepts seems to be the purpose of existence of each other, it can be admitted that freedom has a relatively dominant position. This is because an individual or communities can experience equality providing that they are free. Where there is no freedom, it makes no sense that individuals and/or communities are equal. This equality is not supported by freedom, so it is socalled equality. Those who think that they are equal just seduce themselves. This is like being rich but not having opportunity to spend money. Foucault criticized these socalled concepts in his own society and tried to show as an insider how ironic freedom it was. In this paper this effort of Foucault is handled through the main concepts in his thought.
