Özel ders dünya genelinde olduğu gibi ülkemizde de oldukça yaygın bir eğitim uygulamasıdır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin özel ders alma nedenlerini belirlemeye yönelik, nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik yöntemine göre belirlenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Batı Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde yer alan bir ilin özel ve devlet okullarında çalışmakta olan farklı branşlardan 17 öğretmen, özel ve devlet okullarında öğrenim gören 24 öğrenci ve 4 veli oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Görüşmelerde araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları kullanılmıştır. Verilerinin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucu elde edilen kodlar, alt temalar ve temalar araştırma alt problemlerine göre tablolar şeklinde hazırlanmış, doğrudan alıntılarla ulaşılan bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Özel derste öğrenci ihtiyacına ve seviyesine yönelik etkili ve sistemli eğitim sağlandığı, öğrencinin derse aktif katılımı ile kısa sürede kolay öğrenme gerçekleştiği, konunun kavratıldığı, bu bağlamda okul derslerinin ve sınavların desteklendiği, ayrıca derslerin seviyeye göre olmasının öğrencinin sıkılmasını önlediği görülmektedir. Bunun yanında öğrencinin birebir eğitimde öğrenmenin sorumluluğunu aldığı ve zorunluluk hissettiği vurgusu da dikkat çekicidir. Bulgulardan hareketle okulun, öğrencilerin akademik ve sosyal beklentilerini karşılayamadığı, derslerin desteklenmesi ve merkezi sınavlarda avantaj sağlanması bağlamında özel dersin zorunluluk olarak görüldüğü ve öğrencilerin eğitim ihtiyaçlarını tamamlamak amacıyla özel derse yöneldiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The special course is a very common practice in our country as well as in the world. In the study, the study has been used to determine the reasons for students taking special courses, the quality research patterns of the situation study scheme. The study group is determined by the maximum diversity of sample methods for the purpose. The working group consists of 17 teachers, 24 students and 4 guardians from different branches working in private and public schools of a province located in the Western Black Sea Region in the educational and educational year 2017-2018. In the research, the conversation technique was used as a data collection tool. Interviews used semi-configured interviews forms prepared by the researcher. In the analysis of the data, the content analysis method was used. The codes obtained from the analysis, sub-themes and sub-themes are interpreted in the form of tables, the findings obtained with direct quotes, according to the sub-themes of the research. In the private class, effective and systematic education is provided to the student's needs and level, the student's active participation in the class takes place easy learning in a short time, the subject is understood, in this context the school courses and exams are supported, and the level of the courses also prevents the student's tiredness. In addition, the emphasis that the student takes the responsibility of learning in individual education and feels obligatory is also remarkable. The findings have concluded that the school is unable to meet the academic and social expectations of the students, that the special course is considered mandatory in the context of the support of the courses and the provision of advantages in the central exams and that the students are directed to the special course in order to meet their educational needs.
