Abstract:

The aim of this study is to conduct the validity and reliability of the Psychological Mentality Scale (EPZÖ) for Adults developed to determine the psychological mentalities of adolescents. The study’s work group consists of a total of 1254 high school students, including 670 women and 584 men, who studied in the Bodrum district of Muğla in the 2019-2020 educational year and selected by the appropriate sampling method. The factor structure of the measurement has been studied through the analytical and verifying factor analysis and a four-dimensional structure has been obtained that describes 50.95% of the total variance. It has been found that the model compatibility of this structure is at a good level (X2/sd=1.51, RMSEA=.045, RMR=.075, SRMR=.057, NFI=.90, NNFI=.96, CFI=.96, IFI=.96, RFI=.91, AGFI=.89, GFI=.91). To determine the reliability of the scale, internal consistency, two-half and test reliability analyses were performed again and the scale was achieved to accepted values to decide that the scale is reliable. According to the findings obtained from the research, the developed Adult Psychological Intellectual Scale is a measuring tool with validity and reliability that can be used in the process of determining the levels of psychological intellectuality for high school students.
