Abstract:

This study, which examines the relationship between economic freedom and private health expenditures, which has gained importance with the acceleration of globalization, was analyzed for the E7 Countries for the years 2000-2020. While analyzing the data obtained from the Fraser Institute and the World Bank, the Pesaran Panel Unit Root Test developed by Pesaran (2007), Gengenbach, Urbain and Westerlund (2016) Panel Cointegration Test and Dumitrescu and Hurlin (2012) Panel Causality Tests were used. As a result of the study, there is cross-sectional dependence among the variables, slope parameters are heterogeneous, there is a long-term cointegration from economic freedom to health expenditures, health expenditures increased by 7,055 units in response to a 1 unit increase in economic freedom in E7 countries ve it has been concluded that there is a bidirectional causality running both from economic freedoms to health expenditures.
