Abstract:

After the Mondros fighting, the İzmir area was occupied by the Greeks, while the Menteşe area was also started to be occupied by the Italians. As in many parts of the country against these occupations, in the Menteşe region, the Kuva-i Millions organization was established. This is where security and security issues have been seen in the Menteşe area. Those who revealed these problems were: "The gangs in the region claiming to work on behalf of Kuva-i Millliye; the Rom gangs and Italians who want to occupy the Menteşe coastal towns; the Ephes and Zeybeks who operate in the Aydin region but see the Menteşe region as a back area." The structures or groups mentioned here have caused different problems at different points of the Menteşe Sanctuary. During this period, the Menteşe people, on the one hand, tried to support Kuva-i Milly, on the other hand, they tried to protect their property and life security against the above-mentioned groups. On April 23, 1920, the Ankara TBMM opened and provided its sovereignty in the administrative and military field in Anadolu, and the security and security issues in the Menteşe region were solved and the people returned to normal life. In the preparation of this work, archive documents and inspection works were used. The work and the national struggle period were aimed at contributing to the discovery of the assurance problems arising in Anatolia, though small.
