Abstract:

Technological developments in the industry and services sectors, which are constantly in progress, have led to an increase in unemployment. Increased unemployment has a negative impact on the income decrease, stress and anxiety levels of individuals. University students with sufficient equipment and qualities begin to experience unemployment worries even while they are more educated. The emerging unemployment concern also affects the students’ perspective on entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship appears as an important concept when students are unable to find a job, and thus the entrepreneurship tendency of students who are unable to find a job can increase. In this context, the current study has studied the impact of students’ unemployment concerns and the theory of planned behavior variables on entrepreneurial tendencies. For this purpose, research has been carried out on active students studying in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year in the Anatolian University Open Education System. According to the findings obtained in the study, the relationships between behavioral beliefs and personal attitude, normative beliefs and subjective norms, behavioral control perceived with control beliefs, personal attitude and entrepreneurial tendency, subjective norms and entrepreneurial tendency, perceived behavioral control and entrepreneurial tendency, unemployment concern and entrepreneurial tendency are statistically meaningful. It has been found that the relationships between unemployment concern and work experience, gender, income and civil status show a statistically significant difference.
