Abstract:

The aim of this study is to reveal the influence of the type of text on the acquisition of the reading skills of high school students. The study was attended by five high school students selected by random sampling method from the Eflani district of Karabük. In this study where the study of the status from the quality research patterns has been used, the questions developed for the analysis of the data have been created by the researcher in 2018-2019 Education-Teaching Year Reading Skills course achievements and taking expert opinions. The data obtained was analyzed according to the "comprehensive one-state study". The study found that there was a meaningful relationship between the level of perception of the participants and the type of text read by the participants. It is also concluded that the students in the sample group have the percentage of understanding of what they read and the answers they give to the text-related questions in this direction differ according to the type of text they read. Especially fabl and theatrical texts, in general, students understand the literary texts that develop around the event better and give more meaningful answers to the questions developed towards these texts. The results of the study were discussed by comparison with the relevant literature.
