Abstract:

The research was conducted in the Akyazı district between 2007-2008 with the aim of selecting the hopeful types with superior characteristics from the cabbage population that grows from the seed. Following the selection criteria, 79 genotypes of fruit were taken from the river trees that were studied in the first two years. By studying the pomological characteristics of the fruit in these types, 19 hopeful genotypes were selected according to the modified ratio rating method. In the selected genotypes, the weight of the fruit was 11.20-18.00 g, the internal weight was 6.00-8.50 g, the internal proportion was 47.61-63.00, and the coal thickness varied between 0.87-1.87 mm. In genotypes, the fruit length varied between 33.26-44.09 mm, the fruit length between 30.87-36.56 mm, the fruit height between 34.80-39.31 mm and the shape index between 0.94-1.34. The conclusion was that all genotypes selected in terms of fruit and internal randomising were included in the "extra" class; they had superior characteristics that could be standard variety and, along with phenological observations, the second and third stages of the selection work were appropriate to be carried out on these types.
