Osmanlı Devleti, XIX. yüzyılda siyasî ve ekonomik sorunlarla uğraşırken, başta askerî olmak üzere idarî ve iktisadî birçok sahada reformlar başlattı. Askerî reformlar içerisinde ordunun ıslahı için Batı tarzı askerî eğitim modeli örnek alınarak modern okullar açıldı. Kara ve deniz harp okullarına nitelikli öğrenci bulmak amacıyla 1845 yılından itibaren askerî idadiler, 1875 yılından itibaren ise askerî rüşdiyeler açıldı. Bu uygulama askerî eğitimde kalitenin yükselmesine etki eden önemli bir faktör oldu. İlk açılan askerî rüşdiyeler arasında yer alan Kasımpaşa Askerî Rüşdiyesi’nin Türk eğitim tarihindeki yeri ve öneminin ortaya çıkarılması bu makalenin temel hedeflerinden biridir.
The Ottoman State, XIX. While dealing with political and economic problems in the century, he initiated reforms in many administrative and economic fields, primarily military. In the military reforms, modern schools were opened by taking the example of the Western-style military training model for the healing of the army. For the purpose of finding qualified students in the marine and marine harp schools, from 1845 the military offices were opened, and from 1875 the military offices were opened. This application has been an important factor affecting the quality of military training. The discovery of the place and importance of Kasimpaşa Military Rushdie in the Turkish education history, which is among the first opened military rushdiees, is one of the main objectives of this article.

Modern schools were opened by taking military training in the West as an example for the reformation of the army. Turkish military high schools began to open from 1845 in order to prepare qualified students for the Turkish Military Academy and naval academies. For the same purpose, military secondary schools were opened in 1875. This practice was an important step to increase the quality in military education. One of the main objectives of this article is to reveal the importance of Kasımpaşa Military Secondary School, which was one of the first military secondary schools opened in the history of Turkish education.
