UIaştırma kavramı “İnsanların, malların, haberlerin ulaşmasını sağlayan araçların tümü” olarak tanımlanır. Bu tanımdan hareketle, ulaştırmanın insanoğlunun dünya üzerindeki varlığı kadar eski sayılması bu kavrama yüklenen misyonun önemini ve genişliğini gösterir. II. Abdülhamid dönemi, geçmiştin günümüze tüm tarihçi, siyasetçi ve araştırmacıların farklı şekillerde değerlendirmelerine konu olmuştur. Özellikle dönemin siyasi, iktisadi ve sosyal olayları farklı akademik çalışmalarda derinlemesine ele alınmıştır. II. Abdülhamid döneminin dikkat çeken yönlerinden birisi olarak, ulaştırma ve taşımacılık alanında yapılan yatırımlara değinen araştırmalara da rastlanılmaktadır. Bu makalenin odak noktası ise bu dönemde gerçekleştirilen ulaştırma yatırımlarından özellikle karayolu taşımacılığı alanındaki yatırımlar olacaktır. Bu bağlamda karayolu yatırımlarının yanı sıra yapılan karayollarının onarımına dair projeler de ele alınacaktır. Konuyla ilgili 1864 yılı Vilâyetler Nizamnâmesi ile başlayan idari bölümlendirme ve 1871 yılı Nizamnâmesi çerçevesinde, ele alacağımız Anadolu topraklarında yer alan 16 vilâyet ve 74 sancak ile alakalı arşiv belgeleri ışığında yapılan, tamir edilen ve projelendirilen kara yolları ve bu yolların iktisadî gelişime katkıları üzerinde durulacaktır.
The concept of research is defined as "all the means that enable people, goods, and news to reach." By moving from this definition, the fact that the transmission is as old as the existence of mankind on the earth shows the importance and extent of the mission charged with this concept. and II. The period of Abdülhamid has been the subject of the evaluation of the past to the present day by all historians, politicians and researchers in different ways. In particular, the political, economic and social events of the period have been deeply addressed in various academic studies. and II. As one of the notable aspects of the Abdülhamid period, research is also found to refer to investments in transportation and transportation. The focus of this article will be investments in transportation, especially in road transportation. In this context, along with road investments, projects on the repair of the roads will also be discussed. In the framework of the administrative division that began with the 1864 provinces Nizamnâmesi and the 1871 provinces Nizamnâmesi, we will discuss the archive documents related to the 16 provinces and 74 sancakes located in the Anatolian territory on the ground roads made, repaid and projected and the contribution of these roads to economic development.

In particular, the political, economic and social events of the period were discussed in depth. Academic studies also focused on with great curiosity and interest. One of the striking aspects of the Abdülhamid II’s period is the investments made in the field of transportation. The focus of this article will be the investments in the field of road transportation among the transportation investments in the mentioned period. In this context, repair projects as well as highway construction will be discussed. The roads built, repaired and designed in the light of archival documents related to the 16 provinces and 74 sanjaks in the Anatolian lands, which we will discuss within the framework of the administrative division that started with the 1864 Province Regulations and the 1871 Regulations, and their contribution to the economic development of these roads will be investigated.
