Abstract:

The central giant cell granuloma (CGCG) is a common benign tumor which was first described by Jaffe to define a benign reactive intraosseos lesion usually located in the maxilla and mandible. This lesion is mainly located in the anterior mandible and has predilection to young women. Based on radiographic and clinical features, CGCGs exhibit a spectrum of behavior ranging from non-aggressive to aggressive. The purpose of this article was to discuss the aggressive type of maxillary central giant cell granulomas related to maxillary sinus and to assess its destruction and growth potential, and the response with surgical curettage treatment. The central giant cell granuloma, first defined by Jaffe as selim reactive intraoseose damage, is a common selim tumor that is usually localized in the maxilla and mandibula. This injury is usually localized in the frontal area of the mandibula and tends to be more common in women. Based on its radiographic and clinical characteristics, this injury is divided into two types: aggressive and non-aggressive. This article aims to discuss the potential of growth of the aggressive type of central cell granuloma associated with the sinus, the destruction it creates, and the response to the surgical curetage therapy.
