In this research it is intended to identify if the teaching of listening strategies have an effect on comprehension of listening skills in the fifth grade. This research is based on semi-empirical method. The group of this research consists of 162 individuals of the entire fifth grade students who study in Karesi and Altıeylul district of Balikesir in the years of education 2014-2015. The student’s socioeconomiclevelsarelower, middleandupper. There search data is develope dby Webb(1997) and adapted achievement test to Turkish by researcher; “TheScale of Metacognitive ListeningComprehension Awareness” is composedby Katrancı (2012) andsocio-economic status scale has been used which was developed by researcher. The data obtained from there search transferred to SPSS (20) package program and after there search it is understood that there is a significant difference in thefavor of final test betweenpre-test and final test. Betweenpre-applicationand final application of “listening comprehension awareness scale” whic has sess student’s listening comprehension awareness. It is understood that there is a significant difference in favor of the last application. It is identified that depending on socio economic status teaching strategy makes a significant difference in favor of students whose parents are socially and economically in good condition, students whose academic success are better between the first period and final test makes a good difference in their favor of final test. It is determined that there are no significant differences in tests measure teaching listening strategies depending on gender.
