Yetersiz fiziksel aktivite düzeyini; eşi ölmüş, boşanmış ayrı olmanın (OR=12.27), kadın olmanın (OR=2.27), lise ve üniversite düzeyinde eğitim almanın (OR=3.77), işsiz (OR=3.28) ve emekli olmanın (OR=5.83) arttırdığı saptanmıştır. Katılanların 187’sinin (%46.8) uyku kalitesinin iyi olduğu belirlendi. Kötü uyku kalitesini; vücut kitle indeksi artışının (OR=1.07) ve kronik hastalık varlığının (OR=1.71) arttırdığı saptanmıştır.
Purpose: The study aims to investigate the factors associated with the level of physical activity and the quality of sleep in adults. Method: This cut-type research was carried out in Mersin Mezitli between 15 March and 15 April 2015. 400 people between the ages of 20 and 65 were taken to work. The level of physical activity was assessed by the "International Short Form of Physical Activity Survey" and the quality of sleep was assessed by the "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index". Identifying statistics were used to summarize the data. The risk factors affecting physical activity and the quality of sleep have been assessed in the Binary Logistic Regression model. Results: 194 (48.5%) men, a total of 400 people participated in the study. It was found that 59 of the participants (14.8 percent) had a sufficient level of physical activity. In men and women, this ratio was 22.2 per cent, 7.8 per cent, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (p≤0.05). The level of inadequate physical activity has been found to be increased by the death of the spouse, divorced separation (OR=12.27), female (OR=2.27), high school and university education (OR=3.77), unemployed (OR=3.28) and retirement (OR=5.83) 187 of the participants (46.8 percent) were found to have a good quality of sleep. The poor quality of sleep has been found to increase the body mass index (OR=1.07) and the presence of chronic disease (OR=1.71) There is no statistically meaningful relationship between sufficient level of physical activity and quality of sleep. In terms of the level of inadequate physical activity, it is recommended that women, high school and higher education, unemployed and retired as a professional group, and in terms of poor quality of sleep, the increase in the body mass index and the presence of chronic illness are carefully assessed.
