Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose: Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a safe variety of gastrostomy in which enteral nutrition is provided in patients with no oral nutrition for any reason and with a solid gastrointestinal system. Our purpose in this study is to provide data on the indications of the percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy in our 2nd stage hospital, the early and late period complications and follow-up. Instruments and Methods: Patients infected with percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube in the endoscopic unit of Bitlis State Hospital between September 2016-October 2017 were examined retrospectively. The results: 26 facts were included. The average age of the cases was 64.23 (18-101) 13 were men and 13 were women. Of the cases 11 (42.3%), cerebrovascular disease, 5 (19,23) dementia, 3 (11,53%) amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, 1 (3.84) neurobehet, 1 (3.84) hydrosphaly, 1 (3.84) acromegaly, 1 (3.84) electric burning, 1 (3.84) Erb-Duchanne Muscle Dystrophy, 1 (3.84) cerebral palsy and 1 (3.84) epidural bleeding were performed by percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. The average tracking time of cases is 137.65 (4-388) days. 2 (11.53) cases of early period complications were observed. In one case, there was an in-the-west free air and in one case there was an upper gastrointestinal system bleeding, in addition, in one of our patients, it was observed that the percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy canals were removed due to incompatibility. Mortality related treatment has not been observed. The one-month mortality rate is 3.8% and the three-month mortality rate is 26.9%. The result: Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a gastrostomining reliable way made for enteral nutrition. The 2nd stage can also be applied safely in hospitals.
