Bu araştırmanın amacı Selçuk Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu Dergisi’ni (SBMYOD) bibliyometrik açıdan incelemektir. Bu amaçla, derginin ilk kurulduğu yıldan itibaren 1998-2017 yılları arasında yayınlanan 405 makale analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz ve içerik analizi tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda yazar başına düşen makale sayısı, derginin en verimli yazarları, makalelerin çok yazarlılık durumu, derginin Pareto yasasına (80/20 kuralına), Price yasasına ve Lotka yasasına uyumu, makale yazarlarının unvan dağılımı ve kurumları, makalelerde kullanılan ortalama anahtar kelime sayısı, anahtar kelimelerin başlıkta geçme oranı, makalelerin ortalama sayfa sayısı, yayımlanan yıllık ortalama makale sayısı, makalelerde kullanılan yöntem dağılımı, yayın dili dağılımı ve ortalama kaynakça sayısı açılarından inceleme yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, derginin seyrini göstermesi açısından önem taşımaktadır.
